Richard Marino, Managing Director

Rick Marino is a Managing Director for the Stores Consulting Group, LLC. Prior to this, Rick built and ran both Accenture’s and Capgemini’s Store’s Improvement practice for North America. Rick is one of the premier thought leaders in the retail industry and has been featured on CNBC’s Black Friday’s retail winners and losers report. He has a dozen years of industry experience at retailers such as Limited Brands, Kohl’s and Federated/Macys Department Stores. Rick has developed and executed the industry’s leading retail store performance improvement practice. His stores and company transformation practice has assisted retailers to become profitable and remain viable for the long term. Over the past fifteen years, Rick and his teams have improved the industry’s profitability by over $12 Billion Dollars. Rick has a BA in economics from Ohio Wesleyan University and a MBA in marketing.

James Sweeney, Managing Director

Jim is a Managing Director for the Stores Consulting Group, LLC. He had a ten year career in the supermarket industry and then worked for 20+ years as a retail industry consultant, achieving leadership positions at Arthur Andersen, Capgemini and Accenture. Jim left his role as an Executive Partner at Accenture to found the Stores Consulting Group in 2009. He is recognized as a retail operations expert and has been a featured speaker at NRF, FMI, and GMA shows on numerous industry topics. Jim has an MBA from Rutgers University.

Greg Paris, Director

Greg is a Director with the Stores Consulting Group, LLC. He has over ten years of experience as a retail industry consultant with Arthur Andersen and Capgemini. In addition, he has 15 years of grocery retail industry experience. Greg has led numerous grocery and perishable profit improvement programs, focusing on production planning, process improvement, and workforce management. Greg has BA degree in Finance from Cleveland State University.

Tom Sinnen, Director

Tom is a Director with the Stores Consulting Group, LLC. He has over 20 years of large consulting firm experience and 18 years of industry experience working for various large volume food production, warehouse, and retail businesses. Tom was Vice President of Operations for Webvan, an eCommerce retailer in Chicago prior to working for Capgemini & Accenture for the past 8 years. Tom has lead numerous retail shrink, grocery/perishable business improvement projects and is considered a leading expert in perishable production planning tools and work processes. Tom graduated from Marquette University with a BS degree in Business Economics and Finance.

Rich Van Patten, Director

Rich is a Director with the Stores Consulting Group. He has over 18 years of large consulting firm experience and 23 years of industry experience working with a large regional grocer in the northeast where he was primarily focused on store process improvements and Workforce Management. Rich was the Director of Operational Engineering, responsible for all aspects of Workforce Management in a large grocer prior to his most recent experience in the consulting workforce.  His experience in consulting has had him working with many of the largest retailers in the world to solve their most unproductive issues. Rich has spent the last 8.5 years with Accenture leading their Global Workforce Management offering delivering complex WFM implementations. Rich graduated from the New School for Social Research with a BS in Human Resource Management. Rich recently retired from the USAir Force as a Lt. Col. with over 28 years of service flying in LC-130H aircraft in the polar regions of the world.

Larry Foster, Director

Larry Foster has spent his entire career in the retail industry spanning over 30 years where he served in a variety of roles with retailers such as Wegmans Food Markets and CVS Health, with professional consulting companies including Arthur Andersen/Senn Delaney and Cap Gemini Ernst and Young, and data analytics vendors Sysrepublic and Profitect. Larry is currently a Director with the Stores Consulting Group, LLC. In addition to his broad knowledge of solutions, Larry’s experience includes several industry speaking engagements, both domestically and internationally, surrounding the integration of loss prevention and technology. He has been published, interviewed, and quoted in many industry trade publications on the topic of risk containment, profit improvement, and overall loss prevention counter measures. Larry has an MBA from Alfred University in Alfred, New York.

Jeff Hobert, Managing Consultant

Jeff Hobert is a Managing Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group, LLC.  He has over five years of prior experience in management and operational roles, as well as over 12 years experience working as a Retail Consultant in his current role, and with Capgemini and Eastman Kodak. He has worked with 20+ retailers across the United States and in Europe in implementing solutions across a broad spectrum of areas.   He has primarily focused on sales improvement, customer experience, and store operational process initiatives to reduce costs and improve profitability.  Jeff has an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Michael Hurst, Managing Consultant

Michael Hurst is a Managing Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group.  Michael graduated from High Point University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.  He has over 5 years of consulting experience assisting clients in improving fresh, center store, front end, loss prevention, and eCom operations.  In addition to tSCG, he has over 25 years of merchandising, operations, and asset protection experience at the store, regional and corporate level.  His professional experience prior to tSCG includes Sam’s Club, SpartanNash, Lowes Foods, Roundy’s Supermarkets, and  Southeastern Grocers.

Ed Taylor, Managing Consultant

Ed is a Managing Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group.    He has over 35 years of proven retail leadership at the Kroger Company, including Director of Shrink Management at Corporate with responsibilities for Shrink Management, DSD, SBT and process improvement in over 20 Kroger Divisions encompassing 2700 plus stores.

Tommy Bohn, Senior Consultant

Tommy is a Senior Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group. He has a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from The Ohio State University. His past work experience includes work in finance with Sherwin Williams and client relations in the litigation support field. Recent project involvement includes production planning, fresh item management, and DSD vendor management.

Jeanie Burningham, Senior Consultant

Jeanie Burningham has extensive and diversified experience in retail store operations, regional and corporate management,  and complex project management.  She also has systems development and implementation experience with POS option settings, PLU standards and management security settings.  She has experience working in corporate, field and store operations positions within many capacities. She is a proven leader with the ability to identify and implement change strategies, establish cultural changes and work with all levels of the business to reach a cohesive outcome. 

Jean Carlucci, Senior Consultant

Jean Carlucci is a Senior Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group. Jean spent four years overseas as an intelligence analyst and has successfully held retail roles at both the field and corporate levels. During her time in retail her responsibilities covered several functional areas including, but not limited to: Operations, Merchandising, Loss Prevention and Pharmacy.  Jean has a B.S. from John Jay University and an LP Certification from the Loss Prevention Foundation.  She is an honorably discharged veteran, serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Anthony Cerullo, Senior Consultant

Anthony J. Cerullo is a Senior Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group.  He has worked primarily in the Fresh Production area of grocery retailers implementing production planning tools and standardizing merchandising initiatives throughout the fresh departments.  A.J. has also worked on inventory management and backroom organization initiatives that improved the bottom-line.  He has a B.S. in Business Management from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.​

Eileen Collie, Senior Consultant

Eileen Collie is a Senior Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group. She has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Eileen’s prior project work primarily involves staffing  and labor efficiency, space and inventory planning, and data analysis, and process improvement.​ She currently leads tSCG’s team of Industrial Engineers, and most recently, she has been perfecting tSCG’s industry leading tools for measuring and sustaining compliance in company-wide program rollouts. 

Mike Connolly, Senior Consultant

Mike Connolly is a Senior Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group.  He has over 40 years of retail operational experience and management and over five years experience working as a consultant with retailers across the United States.  Mike has proven executive ability to combine business concentrated strategic procedures with client focused initiatives.  He has extensive knowledge on all areas of store operations and management.

Cary Gray, Senior Consultant

Cary Gray is a Senior Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group.  His experience includes 20 years of Retail Loss Prevention, Asset Protection & Safety. He is accomplished in DSD Receiving, Production Planning, Transaction Monitoring, LP Management, and Access Control.  Cary’s prior experience also includes serving as a Law Enforcement Officer.​

Maiti Keen, Senior Consultant

Maiti Keen is a Senior Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group. She has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh with a concentration in Engineering Management. Her prior work experience includes project management with robotics and technology and with the manufacturing industry. She also has experience developing programs for and managing nationwide installation services within the manufacturing and branding industries.

Chad Rusk, Senior Consultant

Chad Rusk is a Senior Consultant with the Stores Consulting Group.  Having over 25 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, construction, energy, and retail industries, he has brought an extensive management background to this consulting role.  He has retail experience in Operations, Asset Protection/Loss Prevention, Safety, Marketing, and Merchandising in some of the largest retailers in the nation.  During his time in retail, he has held store management positions, corporate roles, and most recently, he was Director of Retail Operations.  Chad has mentored hundreds of individuals who have built successful careers in the industry.
