Supervalu is a wholesale grocery distributor founded in 1926 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Once a major independent supermarket operator, the company sold off its retail store banners in the mid-2010s and today focuses on grocery distribution and supply chain services for independent retailers. Supervalu has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) since 2018.
