Kangaroo Express is a convenience store banner founded in 1967 in Sanford, North Carolina, originally as The Pantry, Inc. The chain once operated more than 1,500 stores before Alimentation Couche-Tard (parent of Circle K) acquired it in 2015 for roughly $860 million and converted most locations to the Circle K banner. Today, Kangaroo Express survives as a small, franchise-only banner of roughly 100 locations concentrated in Florida and the Southeast, for sites that don’t fit Circle K’s standard branding.
